Cheap Pottery Barn Knock-Off

Cheap and Pottery Barn
Do Not Go Together!
They have great things,
But Oh, they are overrated over-priced!
Well, I guess if you have money to burn
then you could buy there without
feeling guilty.
Since I am not in that group
of money burners
I have to find the cheap alternative.

I love these "Voluminous Vases"
Pottery Barn price $59-$79
I set out to make my own
Ya, make my own!
I found cheap glass candle holder and glass containers
at the thrift store (DI)
I used my trusty old friend
Gorilla Glue
And this is what I got!
My Voluminous Vases cost me
about $2 a piece!
Oh much better.
(notice my Eiffel Tower, I found it at TJ Max)
The only thing Pottery Barn can do better
than me is
take pictures.
I really like my Vases
And they were easy to make

  1. I like your voluminous vases so much and I LOVE the price too. Very creative and very crafty of you. Thanks for entering the Gorilla Glue giveaway. I am a new follower here!

  2. Well those are very nifty! I agree, PB is overrated AND overpriced...and to make things worse, I think they read the blogs to get ideas on what to sell. :)

    So glad you could Mi4M!

  3. Anything Pottery Barn inspired gets my attention! Your knock offs are terrific! Great job. Lisa~

  4. cute vases! you did a fab chic job! thanks for visiting me at cottage romance and leaving a comment!

  5. Hooray! Whenever we walk through places like Pottery Barn, we always find ourselves talking about all the things we can make for less.
I bet that if you'd said all your vases were from PB, no one would think any differently :)

  6. What a nice job - at least PB gives us great ideas ;).

  7. Love the thrifted knock-offs!

    Found you through CSI Project.

  8. Very nice! I love your glass containers - they are very versatile and can be changed with the seasons! Regarding taking photographs - I use a point and shoot digital camera and don't use the flash. I change my setting to take photos in dim light. If I need more light, I bring over a lamp or spot light. And then there is Picasa which helps me enhance my photos. Picasa is a free download from Google... I think there are others, as well. Thanks for stopping by my blog, too!

  9. Just as pretty, and what a nice price! Great find and transformation.

  10. I just LOVE these , Karie! They are adorable! You did such a great job!! I love all the adorable accessories you filed them with, too! :)

  11. Ohhh yes...these are fab!! I love how thrifty you created yours! They're darling!!

  12. What a great idea! I really love these.. Thanks for sharing! Anna

  13. yeah, cheap! and handmade! pride comes with that, over buying something overpriced and mass produced. i may have to try this idea when i decorate for fall this year.

  14. These are really wonderful. I wonder how they would be for candles? I would imagine that they would be quite good, wouldn't you? Great job!

  15. Thrifty is my middle name...luv what you did here! Come by and link up to my NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAYS PARTY with your pretties.

I read each comment and I appreciate the time you spend to leave me one. Thank you so much.
